Bretagne Sud, Méditerranée and Sud Atlantique (AO9)

RWE, the world's No. 2 in offshore wind power, has been pre-qualified for the competitive bidding procedure for projects in the ninth offshore wind power tender (AO9) launched by the French government.

The 4 projects are exclusively extensions of projects already awarded or in the process of being awarded, and will be located in Brittany, on the South Atlantic coast and in the Mediterranean Sea. The call for tenders was launched in August 2024 and the winner is expected to be announced at the end of 2025.

With over 20 years' experience, RWE currently operates 19 offshore wind farms, is building 4.8 GW¹ and has a development portfolio of over 24 GW¹ worldwide.

RWE is investing billions in the energy transition, particularly in offshore and onshore wind power, solar energy and storage technologies, complemented by its trading activities. In offshore wind, RWE will triple its installed production capacity by the end of the decade.
