We are deeply committed to reinvesting earnings from our renewable energy projects to foster growth and sustainability within local communities. In France, RWE has been fostering community development by offering local development projects during the construction phase. By creating community benefit funds, we want to go further and help communities thrive by sharing the value of our renewable energy projects during all phases of our projects.
Each year, we reinvest earnings from our renewable energy projects based on their capacity, and issue calls for local projects. Local associations can then submit a community-related project to request funding. This investment isn't just about financial support; it's about empowering communities, supporting France’s energy transition and building a lasting legacy for future generations.

Renovating a local church
With the support of the association Ronchois dans le vent, insulation work will reduce the energy consumption of the Ronchois church (Seine-Maritime) while protecting its woodwork and furnishings. This project helps preserve the heritage while keeping the church a place for gatherings and cultural events.
Supporting the local biodiversity
The Conservatory of Natural Areas of Hauts-de-France carries out scientific surveys, ecological management actions, and awareness-raising activities. The goal: to ensure the long-term protection of natural habitats, strengthen their ecological role, and involve local residents in their preservation.
Sharing an electric car
An electric car will be made available to all residents of the municipality of Catillon-Fumenchon (Oise), parked near the town hall in a secured area. With the support of the association Wimoov, this solidarity-based mobility service will facilitate daily travel (work, healthcare, events) while encouraging more sustainable practices.
Renovating local resident’s biuildings
With the support of Réseau Eco Habitat and Travaux Suspendus, low-income families will benefit from comprehensive energy renovations of their homes in the municipalities of Catillon-Fumenchon (Oise) and Troisvilles and Reumont (Nord). The project aims to reduce energy poverty, improve quality of life, and restore energy-efficient housing.
Improving the village hall
Led by the association Reumont en racines, the project involves installing photovoltaic panels on the roof of the village hall in Reumont (Nord). The goal: to produce local renewable electricity, reduce the municipality’s expenses, and raise residents’ awareness of the energy transition.
Children acting for the energy transition
Through the Challenge Planète program developed by the association Choisis ta Planète, 4th and 5th grade pupils learn about the challenges of sustainable development and design concrete eco-citizen projects. This initiative helps shape the citizens of tomorrow while fostering positive local actions for a fair and sustainable ecological transition.
Special days for the planet
In the municipality of Catillon-Fumenchon (Oise), the association Tous pour l’art et l’art pour tous organizes various awareness-raising activities on topics such as food waste, climate change, and renewable energy.
